Welcome to Carmarthenshire County Council’s Road Safety Unit’s website.
This is where you can access a wide range of useful information on all aspects of road safety education, training and publicity.
On this website you will find advice and guidance for all road users together with information on local road safety projects, campaigns, and useful links to other road safety websites.
Around 2500 people are killed every year on our roads and around ten times as many are seriously injured.
The community as a whole has an important role to play in reducing road collisions. All road users bear some responsibility for the level of danger on our roads, but the main responsibility lies with those capable of potentially causing the most harm. These are the road users, in particular drivers, who are also the best protected. At the other end of the scale, pedestrians and cyclists pose the least threat but are more vulnerable.
This section is intended to give you good advice to help you improve all areas of being a road user and to understand the problems that the more vulnerable face.
